elina, eriksson, kabwe, life in z,

Originally from Gotland, Sweden, I made Kabwe and Zambia my new home back in 2004 after working as a volunteer for a few month. It was after meeting my husband that I took the decision to switch continents. Something that you don’t do in the blink of an eye!

I’m a proud mother of four children (three boys and a girl) and we are enjoying farm life to the full. For me family always comes first and I truly enjoy spending time with those closest to me.

In my own time I’m getting serious with my photography, try to stay in shape with Yoga and a run on the farm every now and again, and my thrift shopping has become somewhat of a hobby as well. On this blog I share a mixture of personal anecdotes, my opinion on what’s happening in the society as well as photos and favourite recipes and more.

  1. Hello,

My name is Hope and I’m a senior editor at World Trade Press, a publishing and digital media resources company in California. We create educational and travel websites, and are in the process of upgrading our AtoZWorldCulture product. This website offers detailed, country-by-country cultural and social information for schools and colleges. To see the website as it is currently, click here: http://www.atozworldculture.com and enter az as the user name and aleppo as the password. This password will grant you free access through the end of April.

One new section we are adding contains proverbs from around the world. We would like to provide this cultural aspect of the Zambia on our website by including proverbs in English, Nyanja, and/or Bemba (whatever combination you feel would best represent Zambia), along with the translation and meaning of each. We were wondering if you would be interested in compiling and writing 20 Zambian proverbs for us. In exchange, we will offer 9 cents per word, author attribution, a link directly to your blog or other website, and a free one-year subscription to AtoZWorldCulture.

Thank you for your time and your consideration of our request. Please let me know if you have any questions. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
