I’ve just come back from the “deaf house” here in Kabwe where Sarah and Roy live and work with thirty something children of various age. Some of them are as you might have guessed deaf which makes their lives even harder. I had a good chat with Sarah, and you’d have to look hard to find a woman with a bigger heart! With little means she’s looking after over thirty children (when all the older ones are back from school). But most of the children are under the age of ten. Besides that she has four children of her own plus a recently adopted daughter. I went there to take some clothes for the children that my parents had brought with them on their last visit to Zambia. This is not a well sponsored international NGO, it’s ordinary people willing to share so much of their time, money and love to make sure the most vulnerable have a roof over their head and food on their plate.
